Ideal Implants are saline-filled implants that have been designed with an internal structure that makes them feel closer to silicone gel implants than the other brands of saline-filled implants. The benefits of these implants is that if they leak then the saline (salt water) is absorbed by the body and the patient can detect the leak because the implant and breast gets smaller. Also, they feel more like a silicone gel-filled implant than a regular saline implant.Mentor Memory Gel implants are one of the several types of silicone gel-filled breast implants available. These implants have a very soft and natural feel, which is their main advantage. On the down side, if there is a leak of the implant, it may be more difficult to detect it and the the leaked silicone could potentially contribute to issues such as capsular contracture. While silicone gel-filled implants are very safe and give very nice results in general, the Ideal Implant is a good option for those who prefer a saline-filled implant for the "peace of mind" of saline and also want an implant that feels closer to silicone than previous saline implants available.
Hello, Mentor implants are filled with cohesive silicone gel and Ideal brand implants are filled with saline (salt water). Ideal brand implants have multiple layers on the inside to the water doesn't move around freely like it does in typical saline implants. The two implants do have a different feel outside of the body, but to my knowledge there are no major studies that have examined whether there is a different feel inside a person's breasts.
Thank you for your question. Ideal implants are filled with saline but are designed with an internal silicone baffle that is designed to make the saline implant feel more like a silicone implant. Mentor memory shape implants are form stable (anatomic) silicone gel filled implants. As far as which one is better, it will really come down to personal preference. Best to discuss this with your board certified plastic surgeon.
Ideal implants are a new type of saline implants, with multiple shells and saline fill. MemoryShape is a silicone gel implant. There are many differences between the two. I've attached a link for you.Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons.
There are many differences between the two implants you mentioned; principally, the "ideal" implant is a saline filled breast implant whereas the Mentor implant you mentioned is a silicone gel-based implant. Personally, I think that careful selection of plastic surgeon and careful communication goals are the two most important "factors" when it comes to achieving the desired outcome with breast augmentation surgery. The specific breast implant manufacturer and even type of breast implant are far less important factors, in my opinion. All of the FDA approved breast implant manufacturers provide good products.Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. ***Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes.
Ideal implants are saline filled. Memory shape implants from Mentor are silicone gel filled implants. Two different products.
The Ideal breast implants are saline implants designed to mimic the feel of silicon gel breast implants. The Mentor memory shaped breast implants are silicon gel breast implants. The memory gel breast implants have been available over 10 years and have undergone significant long-term research studies and are proven to provide excellent results.
It is important to use actual implants to try on before picking a size. Photo simulations are helpful but nothing can beat bringing a soft "full c cup" bra to your consultation and taking the time to try on the different implants. In a thinner patient it can take less volume...
Thanks for your question. There is a wide range of use of the form stable implants; some surgeons use them for most cases but others just use them in certain scenarios. I personally use them only in selected cases when there is some nipple sagging and I want to impart a more perky look, or for ...
Hi. It really depends on 2 things - how big you want to go and how much natural tissue you have to "hide" the implant. The difference is really the upper pole. A round gives a slightly more prominent upper pole. If you are going for a conservative size then a round is usually fine. If you ...
