Bad Neck Liposuction/mini Facelift? (photo)

Your concerns are reasonable if you wished for a full face and neck rejuvenation. Unfortunately, mini procedures do not commonly provide major results. In the neck region there is scarring and excessive tissue. All of this can be corrected with surgery, but you are still early from your procedure. I a glad that you have an appointment with your surgeon as I am certain that they want to make things right for you.

From the picture it looks as though the neck should have been included in the facelift. After fat removal by liposuction excess skin will just gather up his demonstrate in the photograph. Seldom is an upper facelift with liposuction of the neck an indicated combination of procedures.

The short answer to your question is that the submental area (under your chin) can be corrected depending upon the cause. If the skin has relaxed additional tightening can be performed. If too much fat has been removed, this can also be replaced. Finally, if some platysma banding is present this can be adjusted by a submentoplasty. I would discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

It would appear you have two issues:

 

1) You appear to have a hollowing in the sub-mental region. If you only had liposuction in this region then this is most likley a cobra-neck deformity. This is from removing too much fat. Yes this can be fixed. Your doctor can graft fat into this region to restore a smoother appearance. Obviously its better to see you in person but thatis what it looks like from the photos

 

2) There is always a bit of crep and relaxation in the first few months after surgery. Hopefully you can recognize that your profile still looks much improved. The correction I see is on par with most mini lifts

At 2 months post-op there will still be some swelling and you should see some improvement over the coming months.  Likely there is still some skin excess under your chin that may need to be addressed in the future.  Definitely follow up with your surgeon and voice your concerns, but remember to be patient!!

At two months it is still early to evaluate your results. You do have some swelling of the neck that is still apparent. This should improve with time.  If you have any residual laxity, I am sure that your surgeon  would be open to a revision.  Best wishes.

At 2 months after a facelift, healing is still occurring.   I would discuss your concerns with your PS but you neck will continue to change over the next few months.  I would not jump to conclusions, but take the approach that you should be patient.  I trust that your PS will be able to take care of your issues/concerns.  

Eve after two months there are some healing to be happeinig.   I will waiit  at least 3 mone months befere doing anythigh.

While many patients desire "mini" lifts due to perceived quicker recoveries, the results are quicker too...as in fleeting. In most women over forty-five with skin laxity in their neck, a mini-lift does not provide the complete results desired in the neck line. The skin does not have adequate elasticity in this area, so when fat is removed, without being tightened, more laxity occurs. Ask your surgeon about options for further improvment.

I see your concern with persistent neck laxity but 2 months is early in the healing cycle so it is best to  discuss your concerns with your surgeon but be patient and allow complete healing.  Most facelifts look best at 6 months postop.  If there has not been improvement, that would be the time to consider a "tuck up" of the neck to improve the laxity.  Most surgeons are happy to do a "tuck up" at no or nominal charge.  Of course if anesthesia is involved there will most likely be a charge for their services.  Be sure, your neck will look better at 6 months and can be improved at that time with a "tuck up" if you are still displeased.
