How long does the results of Kybella last?

Kybella induces fat cell death, and new fat cells don't tend to grow in the place of the treated cells. Although the residual living fat cells can each absorb more fat, this clinically does not seem to happen unless someone were to gain excessive weight.  Kybella hasn't been on the market as long as we have been doing neck liposuction, but the procedures can be thought of as having the same long term duration of results. Thank you for your question. Kybella permanently reduces fat. You may need more than one treatment to attain the desired result, however once the fat is treated, it is permanently gone. Good luck!

The medication permanently lysis the fat cells which live under your skin and above the platysma muscle. As long as you maintain your weight, then the results are permanent. This is the only FDA approved injectable for fat removal under the chin and it is safe.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

The great thing about Kybella is that it is a fat melter.  Because of this, it takes the fat cells and destroys them.  Unless you have a significant weight gain your results should last quite some time.  In fact, we are doing a long term follow up study that has been very positive so far!Good luck!

the first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment for
the double chin. One of the best things about Kybella is that, unlike other treatments such as Botox, maintenance treatments are not necessary. This is because once the fat cells are eliminated by the body, the area is no longer able to store or accumulate fat. A series of 2-4 treatments is required, sometimes up to 6 treatment. Once the Kybella dissolves the fat cells, those cells are gone for good. So, the results from Kybella are permanent. However, at a certain point, the skin will begin to sag. But that is a different issue...

Thank you for your question. Since the body cannot make new fat cells the fat is gone forever.  When choosing a doctor, look for someone that is board certified. An office that has multiple choices in removing fat under chin will be able to access your particular issue.
