I had chin lipo 8 days ago. As soon as the doctor showed me a mirror, I noticed that there seemed to be an uneven area under my chin. (like one side still had some fat). He had already stitched me up and honestly I really was ready for the procedure to be over so I didn't voice my concern. I actually thought it was just swelling and would even out. Now a week later it looks even more uneven. I guess Im starting to get concerned. Would swelling even show up immediately after surgery?
Answer: Post op chin lipo Thanks for sharing. At the completion of surgery, from the surgeon's point of view, I expect to see my results pretty even and smooth. The next day there will be some acquired swelling when the dressing comes off and can be different than what is seen "on the table." Swelling and even fluid can also increase over the next several days. So, your surgeon should have an idea on how things really looked. That said, it is unsure if your results are uneven versus acquired swelling. Your surgeon will give you a better assessment on your next visit. He will give you further instructions. For my patients, at 7 days there is still some swelling but it is uniform throughout.

Answer: Swelling after liposuction It is quite normal to have swelling after liposuction. Within a few hours, the area that was just treated can fill with edema fluid. In most cases, the swelling is quite diminished at one week. It takes a few weeks to completely resolve. In the picture that you provided, there is significant redness at the incision and the central area looks very flat compared to the sides. If too much fat is removed on the "skin" side the skin can have a wrinkled appearance. Follow-up with your surgeon with all of your concerns.

Answer: Chin Liposuction After Care--Venus Legacy, Exilis, Kybella, Ultherapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Massage, Compression Yes, you may have uneven swelling and/or tenderness, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. To improve final results, we will often do a kybella and ultherapy about 4-6 weeks after neck liposuction to get more of an outcome. If there is unevenness, you may need a revision proceudre and would be best to see a VASER HI DEF expert. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Uneven liposuction results When liposuction it's done correctly patients should see immediate and even results. This is especially true for the first time the compression garment is taken off one or two days after the procedure. Your results indicate there may be some issue in regards to how the procedure was performed. It appears that certain areas may have been over treated. At this point you simply have to wait until everything is healed and all the tissues have matured. This will take a minimum of 3 to 6 months. At that point if the results are not to your liking you could possibly undergo some form of revision procedure. In the meantime continue to follow up with your doctor. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.

Answer: Liposuction It appears that the central compartment was overdone. Wait until 3 months for all the swelling to go down. If still uneven, it can be touched up with Kybella. All the best.
