Hello and thank you for your question. The short answer is, yes, dental veneers feel quite natural. I recommend following up with your Dentist about your questions or consult with a Prosthodontist, who can discuss with you the different types of veneers to give you the best long-term results. A Prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has advanced training in restoring teeth and can create a customized treatment using the latest techniques in dental veneers.
Hi:I have been practicing cosmetic dentistry for 31 years. With the exception of 2-3 patients, everyone tells me after a short period of time they feel like real teeth.Best,Dr. Maddahi
Proper planning of the placement or length and thickness of veneers if very important. The smooth texture of veneers is usually appreciated by patients. Patients do not have a feeling that they "feel weird" if planned and done correctly. Hope this helps.
Great question!Yes, when properly made and placed, porcelain veneers feel just like natural teeth. I would only have veneers placed by an expert cosmetic dentist who uses the best porcelain and has an excellent ceramist.
Veneers are made of a variety of materials with the most common and aesthetically pleasing ones being made of a mixture of minerals known as ceramic. These materials mimic natural tooth appearance in shape, texture and color. All should be inspected for fit and function before delivery to ensure the patients approval in both appearance and feel.
In my opinion, if done right, they should feel very similar to your original teeth. Granted, if veneers are used to make the appearance of your teeth larger or smaller, you may notice the size difference at first, but I haven't had anyone complain that they feel unnatural. In certain situations, veneers extend to the palatal aspect of the tooth, and there is a little line where the tooth ends and the veneer begins that you may feel with the tip of your tongue. This line is usually smoothed and polished so that it is seamless and undetectable, and again I haven't had any patients mention that it feels weird. Hope this helps!
Its very difficult to say anything without seeing your case, its my request to upload photos , so i can guide u better. veneers are ideally contra-indicated in edge to edge bite. as u said u r surgical case , so cephalometric analysis is must to know exact condition.
