Unable to squint my eye after forehead botox procedure 4 months ago - advice?

Hello @jk929 Botox effect is not permanent, it takes 3 months approximately for botox effects start disappearing. The effect is progressive, that means when you have botox it will not have a blocking effect the instant the you had it applied or the next day, you start seeing the effects 3 days after the application and the same thing happens when the botox is wearing off. You will go back to normal, I suggest you wait til the effects disappear and go to another board certified specialist to treat lines in forehead. Hello and thank you for your question. Botox is generally a safe procedure, but in the hands of an inexperienced injector, complications may occur. Side effects may include Botox migrating from the injection site to the adjacent muscles. Your provider may have used too much Botox also. Botox results typically last for 3-4 months, so my guess is your symptoms should improve very soon. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with extensive experience with injectables if you decide to do another treatment.

Botox results last up to 3 to 4 months and can be softened with Venus Legacy and Thermage treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Assuming your eye was over-treated with botox or treated to close to the Orbital rib, you most likely will be able to contract the muscle around your eye with time. It is not uncommon to not be able to squint as intense after botox, but if you are having issues with dry eyes or your eyes not able to fully close when you are asleep you should consult an eye specialist to avoid any problems.
If this does not resolve withing a few more weeks, I would suggest going back to your provider or a cosmetic specialist to do more in depth evaluation.

I'm sorry you are having issues from your Botox treatment. The effects of Botox are temporary and typically last 3-4 months, although for some patients the effects can last longer. You should begin noticing improvement in the coming weeks as the product effects gradually fade.

Hello, and thanks for your question. Although botox generally wears off in 4-6 months in most people, botox can last a longer or shorter time in some people. Botox is not known to change your facial dynamics permanently. Keep an eye on it and if you still aren't able to squint after another 6-12 months, go back to your surgeon and see what your options are. Please see a board-certified surgeon for best results. It sounds like the Botox is still effective in the glabella area, possibly causing you the issue with your eye. It should wear off soon, usually Botox lasts 3-5 months and less gets put in the forehead than the glabella so that's probably why you noticed your forehead going back to normal but your eye isn't. Unfortunately Botox can not be taken out so it's best to give it some time for your muscles to no longer be inhibited.
