I’ve had one consult that didn’t go as planned. I assumed I wouldn’t need a lift as my Nipple is placed above the crease. I had 2 children and breast fed my second up until a year ago (primarily with the larger breast hence the asymmetry). Wondering if a lift is needed. I accept some Degree of asymmetry will remain but to achieve an aesthetic look would it be possible to avoid a lift in any way?

Answer: Do I need a lift You definitely need a lift to get your breasts right along with an implant. A lot of plastic surgeons like just popping in implants if they can because it’s easy. Find a surgeon who knows how to perform a lift with implants. Expertise with this procedure varies tremendously.

Answer: Breast lift Dear mamabear226, determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.
