Hi Drs, My nose has a "double" tip appearance and the septum is also deviated a little bit, affecting my breathing. Could you tell me how I can have these two problems fixed? Do you think that deviated septum had caused the double tip appearance? Or are these two totally independent problems? Can these be done by closed rhinoplasty? Thanks,
Answer: Closed rhinoplasty-bulbous tip Hello,I recommend finding a board certified facial plastic surgeon that does the closed rhinoplasty technique. This technique performs refinement of the nasal tip through a scarless approach using endonasal techniques to size, shape and positioning of the nasal tip cartilages.. By doing subtle refinements we are able to finesse the sculpt the nose to match your face perfectly. By doing this via a scarless (closed) approach, there are no external cuts ever on your nose. This prevents the dreaded complication of external scarring at the base of the nose, which even if rare, if it occurs, is devastating. Through a scarless approach you can accomplish almost everything needed to be done to the nose with no scarring, less healing time, less bruising, and less swelling. All the best, Deepak Dugar, MDScarless Rhinoplasty ExpertBeverly Hills, CA 90210

Answer: Finesse Rhinoplasty A widened tip is a common request for reduction rhinoplasty. a combination of conservative cartledge excision and sutures to narrow and have the domes joined will reduce this widened cleft appearance.

Answer: Deviated septum and bulbous tip The anterior septum in your photo may be slightly deviated to your right. If it causes breathing problems it may be worthwhile having this repaired. As for your tip , the two points that define your tip are called the domes. Yours are separated slightly but are quite normal. This in unrelated to your nasal septum It is possible to bring the two domes closer together to give a less square or boxy appearance. This can be done with either a closed or open approach Rhinoplasty and can be done at the same time as a septoplasty.Good luck

Answer: Correcting septal deviation and bifid nasal tip A septoplasty is a typical way to straighten out a crooked septum. You'd need to have your surgeon examine inside your nose to see if you're a candidate and make sure nothing else needs to be done.I think the double dip you are referring to on your nose is what is termed a bifid tip. This is found in people when the nasal tip cartilages are a bit more spaced apart and and when the nasal tip skin is thin enough to see these underlying cartilages. This issue is separate from your septum but can be corrected with rhinoplasty surgery. I normally do this via an open approach to allow for maximal consistency and symmetry. You can read more about nasal tip surgery (and see some before and after photos) at my web reference link below.
