There is no absolute answer to things like this. Any answer is based on a hunch rather than science and should be taken as such. My approach is to ask my patients to limit exercises that specifically stress the core for 6 weeks and to walk somewhat hunched for a week. After that week, a gradual progression towards normal activity levels is pretty standard. I encourage walking the night of surgery so, theoretically, if you vacuumed hunched over, I'd say okay and good work getting up and about. But your surgery is a once in your life experience. There is vacuuming and then serious big time vacuuming I guess. Forget work and take care of yourself. You can walk about progressively for exercise and after 21 days you can do anything you desire. My Best, Dr C
