Thank you for your question, Yes Botox used in small dosages can help to soften lines to your mouth. All the best,
Botox can help to improve these lines, also known as lateral rhytids. Acombination treatment of Botox and dermal filler in this area may be even more effectiveto help soften the lines in these areas.
Botox is often helpful in very small doses. Other procedures can be combined with botox for a longer lasting result. One treatment, Thermi RF Smooth, I find very helpful for long term correction of vertical lip lines but 3-6 treatments may be needed to stimulate collagen and smooth out the area. Sometimes botox combined with Juvederm XC ultra can give a better result than just botox alone(and longer lasting).
Botox can help soften vertical lines on your upper lip, but must be applied in small doses to avoid difficulties drinking from straw or a glass. You can also soften those vertical lines with micro-needleling treatments.
A photo would be helpful to understand your concerns and a physical examination to see how the muscle effects the area is also important. A small amount of Botox can be used for over active muscles and filler material (I tend to use Belotero in this location as it can be injected more superficially), but both of these are temporary.Laser resurfacing or dermabrasion is a more aggressive and more permanent method of removing the lines, but does require some recovery or "downtime".A really nice intermediate treatment is collagen induction with microneedling (I like the Dermapen for it's variable adjusted depth and oscillating frequencies). This takes a series of treatments about 3-4 weeks apart, but only a day of downtime. It helps your skin rebuild and replace the lost collagen while improving skin tone and texture.
Vertical lip lines are often treated with dermabrasion or laser ablation. They can also be treated with filler material and sometimes Botox. Best to see in person to determine the best approach.
These can be treated with a variety of approaches including botox (very modest effect), fillers (not permanent) and laser resurfacing (more downtime but more results). I would recommend seeing someone adept in all options and picking the one that sounds best for you.
Botox does an excellent job of reducing upper lip lines, and it generally only takes four units to see an effect. You may wish to have some filler and Pelleve treatments to alleviate the lines as well.
Thank you for your question. I am sorry about your concern. I would advise you to follow up with your injector for an examination.
Botox will not effect your eye issues, if injected properly by someone experienced. Most often I am using 10-20 units in the forehead, however, what was said below is correct. It varies depending on the effect you are trying to get and whether or not you are trying to change the eye...
Allergan (makers of Botox) specifically recommend using unpreserved saline (0.9% NaCl) which was used during the clinical trials on Botox and how the FDA approved its use.
