Is it common to have rippling with Mentor breast implants?

Question

I have read that you're less likely to experience rippling with silicone implants than saline, especially with the memory gel implants. I'm wondering if they are rippling or if it's possible that the pocket is too small and causing it to ripple. The rippling can be felt more than seen.

Without examining you or seeing photos its difficult to give specific advice about what is causing your rippling but it is true in general that silicone implants ripple less than saline. I'd suggest booking an appointment with your surgeon to be examined if you want to know what is really going on.

Hi EJJB.Rippling is low with Mentor breast implants. I suggest a smooth shell silicone gel filled for the lowest rippling risks. Rippling is not about the implants in most cases, but about the level of thickness in the breast tissue available to cover the breast implants. As long as your breasts are not too small or your implants too big, you should be out of hot water when it comes to rippling.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Rippling is typically more common when the soft tissue covering the implant is thin - hence it's more common with implants over the muscle than under. 
While the type and texturing of implants may also contribute to rippling, Mentor implants are among the best made and likely are not more prone to rippling than their competitors' products.

I have never seen rippling with Mentor silicone gel breast implants.  Ripples are typically visible and if he only feel what you think are ripples they could simply be folds in the implant.

The answer is no.  I rarely see any rippling with the Mentor Cohesive Gel Implants.   You  would have to be very thin to see rippling.

All breast implants can ripple if you are super thin and if they are above the muscle. Even under the muscle can ripple on the outside edges where they are not under muscle. It is more a function of your tissue thinness than the type or make of implant. Salines are much worse than gels for rippling.
