How long will mini face lift last?

Question

Just turned 50 and my hereditary nasolabial fold is becoming prominent or obvious, I don't want to get to drastic full face lift yet as I still look young, just the nasolabial fold which hopefully will help to minimise or get rid of with mini facelift, what do you think doctors shall I just wait? Or go ahead with surgery, and my real question is how long will mini lift last? Thank you

If the only thing that concerns you are your nasolabial folds, then you might do better with dermal fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane Defyne rather than a Mini Lift. A lower facelift really only addresses the lower face, such as slight jowling. You’d need a full rhytidectomy to pull up your nasolabial folds and it sounds like you may not have aged sufficiently for that yet. However, this is based on your description, not photos, so it may be that a facelift is your best choice. I suggest consulting with facial plastic surgeons to find out what your options are. As for how long a Mini Lift will last, it usually can turn back the clock for about 8 years. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.  It can be agreed a facelift is not a solution to stop ageing, therefore even with a facelift unfortunately the ageing process still continues.  The process will differ from patient to patient, depending on the quality of skin and lifestyle.  The Concept Facelift, i perform on my patients, a facelift giving the same surgical results as a traditional facelift, however performed under local anaesthetic therefore reduced recovery period (swelling and bruising) and risks.  This is a good facelift giving natural results, providing patients with a youthful look.  This facelift will last approximately between 7-10 years, therefore the same longevity that a traditional facelift would give.  All The Best

How long a mini lift will last does depend on individual factors and the technique used. It is hard to tell how long it will last for you without examining you but it usually lasts a few years. The aging process continues even after a mini lift, so maintenance with other aesthetic procedure likes fillers, skin care, Botox may improve tremendously the longevity of a mini lift.

Hi, it's impossible to say how long a facelift would last on you without seeing non smiling photos of your face from the front and side.   I have performed many SMAS facelifts for over 30 years and have performed many minimally, invasive SMAS facelifts.  If your nasolabial folds are becoming more prominent, this may indicate a lack of cheek bone volume in the front of your cheeks.  This lack of volume allows the facial tissues to sag off of the cheeks towards the nose and mouth creating the nasolabial folds and "jowls".  In my experience and humble opinion, it's paramount to precisely and accurately augment the cheeks as described below.  I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, liposuction and silastic implants (cheeks, chin, lips) as a stand alone procedure or as an integral part of a facelift surgery
 Following my beauty principles, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face.  Conversely men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles.
 A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin.  Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  I have found placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick and highly effective.
 "Jowls” are sagging facial tissues and the main indication for some form of a SMAS facelift.  The underlying SMAS layer, of the face, must be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured (not merely folded or suspended with threads or sutures that will not last).  The excess skin is then removed and the facelift incisions closed.
 My most popular SMAS facelift is the minimally invasive, short incision SMAS facelift that has all the benefits of more invasive facelifts (traditional, mid-face, deep plane, cheek lift and subperiosteal facelifts) but with these added benefits:
very small incisions and no incisions extend or are placed within the hair.
minimal tissue dissection = less bruising and swelling = rapid recovery ( several days instead of weeks or months with the more invasive type facelifts mentioned)
can be performed in 90 minutes or less, with or without general anesthesia
no incisions within the hair = no hair loss
excess fat can be removed from the face and neck
excess skin removed from the face and neck
cheeks, chin and jaw line can be augmented with dermal fillers (I prefer Restylane Lyft) or facial implants
most patients fly back home to parts all over the world in as little as 3 days post-op
 I combine facial shaping with every facelift procedure.  When jowls are present, these should be done in concert and not alone or separately in order to create a naturally, more attractive face.
