How much of fat (cc) you would remove to contour outer thighs using smarlipo? The doctor also performed smartlipo in upper inner thighs and banana roll (even if I didn't ask to initially). He only sucked out 350 cc of fat in total from all the areas ( he said that he took only 15cc from inner thighs). I m not pleased with the result so far as I only see a very minor change to outer thigh, but I did the procedure for an obvious change.
Answer: Smart Lipo Hello and thank you for your question. You are still early in the healing process. The swelling will subside with time. Try to be patient. Contact your surgeon to discuss your concerns. Best of luck!

Answer: Smartlipo Thanks for your question. Your feelings of disappointment are very common at this early stage after liposuction of any type. It just takes time, and we realize that is hard for patients because it's also hard on us as surgeons. Be patient. You have quite aways to go. Best wishes

Answer: It's not always about the numbers! First off, congratulations on your surgery! Second off, you are aren't even two weeks post op. You are still holding on to significant swelling, which hides your final result. You must be patient, as results can take up to 6 months to be appreciated. Third off, it is not about the amount of fat removed. If you had a twin sister who had the exact same surgery, she may have gotten 700cc's removed and have the exact same result. Everyone has different fat! Continue to follow your surgeons post operative plan, and again be patient. Results will come! If you have any other concerns, be sure to consult with your surgeon. Best of luck!

Answer: When will the result become apparent? Hi and welcome to our forum! Congratulations on your recent procedure...The procedure of liposuction is an "insult" to the soft tissues, resulting in swelling which will initially totally obscure the operative result. The purpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. We usually recommend its use for the first 4-6 weeks after the procedure. 60-80% of the swelling should subside within the first 6 weeks, with the remainder slowly subsiding over 6-12 months. It is still far too early to assess the operative result as it is obscured by swelling. Continue followup care with your plastic surgeon... Best wishes...

Answer: People focus far too much on how much was removed i am sure you will do fine. you are quite trim already. Also 12 days is way too soon to start assessing the success of your smartlipo.Remember that how much is removed is partly a function of how much was infiltrated beforehand. In my opinion, many people doing smartlipo are infusing unnecessarily large amounts - and therefore will remove more. Also the laser used in the Smartlipo, will damage fat that may not necessarily come out at the time of surgery but instead will be resorbed by the body.Lastly, scar tissue will heal the many empty tracks that the laser creates and these will heal with scar tissue which will gradually tighten and contract. This is why you keep improving for 6 months after Smartlipo and why it is such a wonderful procedure.david berman md
