Every surgeon has their own definition of zones. Every patient has different sized fat deposits in all areas of the body. No two are identical. What I recommend to anyone interested in liposuction is to have their body assessed by a body contouring specialist to see how much lipo is needed to improve your look and see whether or not lipo is all you need to achieve your goals. Since everyone is built differently, each person has a unique solution. You can't really slap together a bunch of areas a la carte and wind up with a nice look.
Each doctor will define what they consider an area differently. Some may say 4 zones and others may call what you are asking for 6 zones. Ask to see a body chart which can help you understand what areas are being treated
How areas are separated out vary from place to place and surgeon to surgeon, so the answer is more confusing than it should be. Our areas are divided into upper and lower abdomen, lovehandles, and braline fat.
Thank you for your question. Usually they considered four areas. It may vary from place to place. Please consult with a board certified PS for evaluation.
There are no zones, just areas and you have pretty much mentioned all of them. Like you said, upper abdomen, lower abdomen, flanks and upper back. 4 areas. Make sure you're being treated by a real plastic surgeon. Good luck from New York City
Using the term "zones" is a sales tactic! Any lipo whether SmartLip or any other type usually has the PS stating areas of body vs zones. Call and ask for a ore detailed explanation. In fact is the surgeon even a PS?

each area is generally a zone. therefore lower and upper abdomen are 2 zones. Flanks makes 3 zones. Bra rolls makes 4th zone. Other plastic surgeons may do it differently. i will adjust price slightly if someone is a lot larger since it will take much more time.david berman md

Also some people may have more areas needing to be done depending on fat deposits, weight and anatomical volume variations. The best step is to get a in person consult with a few surgeons, and let them customize the plan specifically for you.Best.
