Yes, with BBL there is no guarantee of a "heart-shaped butt". Fillers like off-label Radiesse and sculptra can also be used for shaping and adding volume to the buttock. An advantage of fillers, they are added while the patient is awake and patient can stand and view results during the procedure. This is another option to fat grafting.

you are right, your anatomy has a significant role in final outcome of your BBL surgery. Based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

Thank you for your question. For better and for worse, your God-given anatomy does drive the bus with fat grafting results to some degree. This is not magic or some creative miracle where you can make one body type look like another. That being said, you can improve someone shape an overall silhouette with this procedure when done with Percision and care. The shelf and or hyper projection that you allude to is not attractive in my opinion and looks worse with age. That’s a good insight on your part. Just look closely at surgeon’s work and see multiple surgeons for their opinions.

There are two variables to determine the outcome of a procedure. They are probably overall equally as important. These two variables are the individual candidacy of a patient and the second is the skill and experience of the plastic surgeon.

Generally speaking fat transfer is far better and giving diffuse overall volume than it is at reshaping.

Patients who are exceptionally good candidates have potential for more major improvements and have physiological characteristics that are ideal for this procedure.

Ideal candidates typically have tight skin, are young, no pregnancy related changes and moderate excess fat in undesirable areas. It’s also helpful if the patient has schedule structure that is favorable for this procedure.

Find before and after pictures of patients who had bodies similar to your own before the procedure.

Always make sure after pictures are taken at least 3 to 6 months from the date of surgery to know you’re looking at actual results rather than swollen early postoperative results.
