Would it be a problem if the gel trap is inserted into the Cool Mini applicator before the liner?

To prevent it from tearing and bubbling. the gel trap would basically lose it's function however, i don't want to risk a thermal burn by it constantly tearing. There's never been a problem with any treatment performed with a little bit of a tear but I also don't ant to risk it.

There shouldn't be any problem with having no liner.  The gel trap will not lose its function as it is supposed to just trap the gel.  It does not prevent thermal burns.  Neither does the liner.  The liner only is to serve as a sterile border between the patient's skin and the cup of the mini.  None of the new applicators (the 35 minute ones) have liners.  They all have gel traps.  Theoretically you don't even need the liner; having the gel trap alone is just fine.  Just make sure you apply the gel which is the real reason people do not have thermal burns.  It has nothing to do with the liner or the gel trap.
