Is it possible to lift my lips and shorten my philtrum (17mm long) without a lip lift? (Photo)

lip lift will give you shorter philtrum. fillers can give the illusion if injected properly. I would use daily hydration and plumping (see emeragecosmetics lip essentials kit).  everyone can do a little filler when done well really gives nice hydration and plumping.  Best, Dr. Emer.

While nothing short of surgery (lip lift) would actually shorten the philthrum, lip filler, like many other fillers can be used to create optical illusions to get the desired result. So if the desire was to take the emphasis off of the philthrum, additional volume to the upper lip would achieve this goal. However, it is important to note that there should be an ideal ratio of the upper lip to lower lip, therefore, you cannot be over aggressive and distort this harmony.
