Absolutely thrilled with the results. Had lower facelift, C02 and then lip lift. I have had previous procedures but Dr. Rana blew the other surgeon away. His suture lines are straight and now invisible. Great staff as well!
I have lost a tremendous amount of facial fat and Dr. Rana has helped me gain a bit back in strategic areas to get the most bang for my buck. I wasn't completely comfortable with some options so we stuck with the Restylane family of fillers and I think I look better. He is honest but gentle and professional. I believe he is also aware of the cost and doesn't want to take advantage of his clients. Devon is also amazing and so sweet. I am grateful to have found this practice.
Hi, I had a chance to review your questions and pictures. You are correct, facial features are way more genetic than they are aging at times. Based on your pictures, I think a little gentle filler around the jowls could help soften and hide the shadows created by your jowls and cheeks. You may also hear about a new "trend" of buccal fat pad excision to give that "chiseled cheeks" appearance. I caution you from obtaining a procedure like this. It will help you in the short term by slimming your face/cheeks but will cause issues 20 years from now by making you look considerably more aged than your actual appearance. As an exclusive Facial Plastic Surgeon, I specialize only in facial surgical and non-surgical procedures. I definitely recommend seeking an expert in facial anatomy before proceeding with any procedure. Happy to help anytime! Nik Rana MD
Hi, I reviewed your question and photos. Thank you for sending these in. These divots are a normal part of the aging process and can happen due to elasticity (stretchiness of skin) loss over time. Also, the anatomic variations by which your muscles attach in your face can also make you prone to dimples and divots. My recommendation is the use of a conservative amount of filler to hide the shadows caused by volume loss. You have to be careful in this area to not overfill, as this can cause a "chewing on tobacco" look. I would seek a facial plastic who has intricate knowledge of facial anatomy and understands the appropriate filler for that area. Happy to help anytime! Dr. Rana.
Hi, I read your inquiry and you have asked excellent questions! Filler to the lip can give the illusion of a shorter philtrum if placed correctly. I think a surgical procedure like a lip lift may be a little aggressive for you at this stage. It can leave younger patients with a "buck teeth" or "rabbit teeth" appearance. You were correct when you mentioned the lip flip procedure would not address your concerns. The lip flip is best for patients with long upper lips and a gummy smile. I really feel judicious filler placed by experienced hands and with someone who understands facial anatomy/balance will get you the results you are requesting. I encourage you to see a local Facial Plastic Surgeon who can assist you with this. Thank you. Dr. Nik Rana!
Hello, I had a chance to review your photo. In that particular angle, there does seem to be some hollowing around the tear troughs. However, this is best analyzed with a straight on picture and forward lighting. The way light angles at the tear trough can even make a normal eye appear hollowed. I do think some gentle tear trough filler, that is strategically placed by the right hands, can make a really nice improvement for you. I have developed a new procedure, called the BEL Procedure (Brilliant Eyelid Lift) which uses the smallest needles and cannulas available to place precise amounts of filler around the tear trough to limit bruising and prevent over-correction. I think you would be an excellent candidate. Thank you. Nik Rana MD.
Hi I reviewed your photos. On straight on (frontal) view, your face is actually very symmetric when assessing your horizontal 1/3's and vertical 1/5's. You have a great hair line, nice eyebrow position, and good cheek structure that will keep you looking young for a long time. I see what you mean by your side profile view. You have something called chin retrusion (weak chin) which limits how sharp your neck and jaw line appears. This is easily corrected with a custom contoured chin implant. This can be done under local anesthesia in about 30 minutes and can make huge strides to refine your jaw line. Something to consider in your age range is to combine a chin augmentation with microliposuction underneath the jaw. This will remove any excess fullness and utilize the advantages of your young skin which will shrink wrap underneath your jaw/neck line. The recovery for this procedure is usually 5-7 days of social downtime. I would recommend seeking a Facial Plastic Surgeon who specializes in facial procedures. Thank you. Nik Rana MD.
