Will PRP work on African hair that has been damaged by traction alopecia? (Photos)

In my opinion, most cases of traction alopecia will respond to PRP Therapy. It is important to get an adequate initial dosage and be patient.We have noticed that it may take between 6 and 12 months to  obtain adequate growth. PRP is more of restorative therapy and degree of reversal would really depend on how advanced traction alopecia has become.  If the follicles have become scarred enough, PRP unlikely to regrow cosmetically acceptable terminal hairs;  however during early stages, it does have the potential for reversal. Frequency of treatment depends on the amount, type, and method of use of PRP.  This is variable in various practices.  Typically approximately 13ml of PRP is needed for each half of scalp.  The type and kit of PRP used is also very critical.  Generally treatments can be every 9-12 months with an optional booster 3 months after the initial therapy has been shown to be helpful.
