2 months post op. Lower breast still numb. Will the feeling come back?

It is very common to experience changes in sensitivity after any operation.

Your skin can become very numb or at times very sensitive.

When this happen can take a long time for the sensitivity to come back but in the majority of the cases it will (can take over a year).

Unfortunately sometimes these changes in sensitivity are permanent and this is more common in the area between the scar and the nipple.

It is normal for the breasts to have a different sensation or even numbness in parts during the healing process. Most often, these sensations will improve over time, usually by 6-12 months. There probably isn't very much you can do to improve this, expect to have some patience during this time. Good luck!

This may be normal if you have severed nerves during the operation. If you experience shooting pains in the near future this is a good indication of nerve regeneration and sensation will come back as soon as the nerves have fully regenerated.

Difficult to say without having done your surgery.  If the nerves are cut that provide sensation to your breast, there is a chance they will not regenerate.  However, if they are stretched, sensation usually returns after a few weeks or months.  If you are experiencing electricity or shooting sensations in your breast, these are positive signs of nerve regeneration and would be encouraging at this time.

Very generally speaking I would expect patchy numbness of the breast after augmentation to return by 3 months.  If the nipple is still numb after 3 months it could be permanent.  Please see our plastic surgeon for an examination and opinion.
