Will my ears change through-out my life after an otoplasty?

Sorry to hear that you are not in contact with your surgeon because he or she would be best to answer some of your concerns.  I will try my best to do that.1. Yes..your ears will "bounce back' about 10-20%. in my practice, I try to over correct the deformity to compensate for this.  This is expected and normal as the sutures relax with time. If the surgery was done correctly and well, they should not ever return to how they were.2. No..headbands will not do anything for you at this stage.  They are only good in the immediate post op period.3. Use a q-tip cotton soaked with saline or water.  Also you can use rubbing alcohol sometimes but just water is enough to gently clean the area behind the ear.  DO NOT USE PEROXIDE for this purpose.4. After having an otoplasty the ears will change slightly but should never go back to the way that they were prior to surgery. At this point in time a headband will not hurt nor help your results. I recommend cleaning behind the ears with water and a q-tip making sure to be careful.
