8 months post BodyTite my tummy is getting larger but I've lost weight. Advice? (photo)

I had the above procedure in January 2015, I am now almost 8 moths post up and my tummy is getting larger. I have not put on weight in fact, lost weight but my tummy has increased in size. When I visited the surgeon on my initial 3 month follow-up he told me it was normal and it could take up to 2 years to show any difference. I cannot believe the reverse has to happen first before seeing results because of what I have seen on this website.

Firstly, I am very sorry to hear about your situation and unsatisfactory results. With so many different approaches to weight loss surgeries, it can be difficult to choose the right one for you. Based on your photo, it seems that the wrong procedure was unfortunately given. I would significantly consider looking at other options for your specific body type and possibly seek out someone else to do so. It never hurts to get a second opinion.Hopefully you have better success with a different approach that is specifically tailored towards you.Best of luck!

Your photo suggests that you may not have been a good candidate for this procedure with is basically RF assisted liposuction.  Your physician should have taken photos before the procedure and it would be reasonable at 8 months to request to go over the photos with your doctor and express your concerns based on this objective criteria.

Your situation is unfortunate and, in my opinion, sad and embarrassing. This procedure has no ability to give you any substantial improvement. Based on your picture, you have significant muscle separation most likely from previous pregnancy and a buildup of intra-abdominal fat. On top of this, you also have a moderate amount of skin laxity. My guess is that your subcutaneous fat layer (the kind that can be surgically removed) is probably actually quite thin.  The only appropriate procedure for you would be a full abdominoplasty. In combination with weight loss, this could give a drastic improvement. My gut instinct says your doctor is not a plastic surgeon. If what you say is accurate, then I would describe him or her more as a charlatan. I'm sorry to be so blunt. You probably already know this. Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
