I had vaser lipo to my up arms approx 18 months ago ,results are really poor I have rod marks where he used too larger cannula and bumpy surface that looks rather like cellulite , I hate them that much now that I can’t wear short sleeve tops and always have them covered , so come to the conclusion that the only way to correct them is via an arm lift would this improve the irregular skin contours ? Could I get away with a short scar arm lift or T scar instead of top to elbow, thanks
Answer: Short scar arm lift Thanks for your question. Very few people are suitable for a short scar arm lift with a scar only in the axilla. The analogy I use is that it is similar to curtains. If you remove the top of curtains and then stretch out the fabric, the pleats in the curtain remain, but only stretched out. You need to remove some of the curtain material to the sides. In the case of an arm, skin should be removed from around the circumference, so the best way for this is with a scar running along the length of the inside of the arm. Only a face to face consultation can determine if you are suitable for a short scar arm lift, and from your photos if you are happy to accept a lesser result for a shorter scar then this might be a suitable option for you.

Answer: Addressing Irregularities after VASER Liposuction Thank you for your question regarding whether you need an arm lift to correct VASER liposuction irregularities. Irregularities are widespread after VASER and any other kind of liposuction. Usually, with time, these contour irregularities smooth out. Contour irregularities can be managed with deep tissue massage and compression. If you’ve exhausted these conservative treatments, you may need reconstructive surgery. If the skin needs to be tightened, and it appears it does, I would suggest an arm lift or a brachioplasty. A short scar or limited incision will not work because the irregularities extend to the elbow. Therefore, I would suggest you undergo a full brachioplasty with an incision from the armpit to the elbow to tighten the arm and rectify the irregularities. This will also eliminate any loose skin. This should correct for irregularities caused by the VASER liposuction. The arm reduction takes approximately 3 to 4 hours under general anesthesia. Please give yourself at least two weeks to recover. I would not suggest more liposuction because your skin does not react predictably to it. Thank you for your question, and I hope this answer helps. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Arm lift to correct botched Vaser liposuction to upper arms? I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment after liposuction surgery of arms. Unfortunately, based on your photographs, I do not think that you are a good candidate for arm lifting surgery. In other words, arm lifting surgery (of any kind) will not result in an improvement in your situation. Be careful with your decision-making so as to avoid further disappointment. Best wishes.
