Hello, I had Vaser lipo about 5 months ago. My heeling was good and fast but I have problems with discoloration now on my stomach and an uneven result. I was in a pretty good shape before and only wanted a small improvement. I think the result looks very unnatural and bumpy with fibrosis as well. Is there still time for improvement or is it unrealistic that it will develop after 5 months. Also what could have went wrong ?do I need a revision? Thank you
Answer: Vaser; Microfat injection; PLA injection There are superficial liposuction and fibrosis-related depressions. It is not appropriate to perform any intervention before 6 months.First, Vaser should be performed and the skin shrinkage due to fibrosis should be released. Afterwards, microfat fat injections can be applied to the ongoing depressions. Again, PLA injections (sculptra, lanluma) can be applied at 1-1.5 month intervals for the same purpose.Since it can take 1-2 years for the color changes in the skin to improve, I do not recommend a rush procedure.

Answer: Difficult to fix I would recommend seeing a very experienced surgeon to address this issue. You are already very thin, and it will be difficult (but not impossible) to improve the contour irregularities you were left with. It's hard to tell from the photos, but some liposhifting combined with renuvion to tighten the skin could help.

Answer: Vaser Revision after 5 months It is best to wait at least 6 months after a Vaser procedure before considering a revision. Vaser heats the skin to stimulate collagen production and tightening. It can take a full 6 months or longer to heal. Your surgeon can examine you at 6 months to determine if the tissue is healed. It is at that time that you can discuss a possible revision procedure.

Answer: Post Op Massage Hello, were you able to get post-surgical massage? That’s a great place to start! A good lymphatic massage therapist can help to soften the scar tissue. You are correct in thinking that the longer you wait, the more difficult it can be, but not impossible. Also please make sure you are following up with your surgeon and following all of their recommendations!

Answer: Liposuction results At five months, your Liposuction results are final and I’m not going to change by waiting further. Your surgeon was overly aggressive and attempted to do high definition Liposuction a.k.a. etching. Because your doctor was aggressive and removed most of your subcutaneous fat improving your outcome is going to be difficult. it is going to be especially difficult if you don’t like the high definition work. Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who approach mastery of this kind of work is in reality quite small. Any attempts at revising the outcome can potentially make things worse. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
