This morning I blew my nose and my stitches came with a large clump of dried mucus. I did not force it and it easily came out. Should I be worried or is this normal? Only reason why I am concerned is because the stitches are meant to dissolve.

Quit while you are ahead. It is not worth taking more risks with your nose. The thick skin is a tough issue and there is no easy solution to it. Every time you have a surgery done it will become riskier. RegardsDr. J
Thank you for your question. Most likely, you did not "ruin" your septoplasty but I recommend reaching out to your surgeon to discuss your post-operative concerns. In the meantime, it is very helpful for patients with allergies to treat them with oral anti-histamines...
