Hey there, I'm concerned I had my BA 4 months ago by a very respected company and I have no cleavage, they look exactly the same size as they was before when I wore a bra! I wanted 850cc and he gave me 650cc!! When I wear a shirt or vest top I have no cleavage. Also the nipple are turning completely outwards!.. Do you think I could get them redone, I'm so disappointed I feel like crying!! I'm 5'9 size 12 uk size , have a long torso and I know with 850cc I could carry it off!! Please help!
Answer: No cleavage and nipples pointing outward after augmentation Breast augmentation is not specifically designed to give you cleavage. The idea is to increase the volume of your breasts. Cleavage comes from a good bra. Breasts that touch when you are not wearing a bra typically indicate that the pockets for your implants were over dissected. This can lead to symmastia which is challenging to fix. Some breasts start of closer to others. Your particular anatomy is largely responsible for where your implants will end up. A photo of you before surgery would help to discuss this. With regards to your nipple position - again difficult to comment on intelligently without seeing your preop photos. In an ideal world your nipples would be in the middle of your breasts. The fact is that most women's nipples are slightly off center of the breast (on the outer half). Most people don't notice this because they grow up seeing it and don't take much notice of it when looking in a mirror. When the breasts are made larger the slightly outward facing nipples become more obvious. The larger the breasts are made the more exaggerated this becomes. Going larger is not going to solver your concerns. It will only continue to exaggerate the nipple position and will likely give you too much fullness in the outside of your breasts - your arms will constantly bump into them and this bothers patients. I'd suggest that you sit down with your surgeon and go over your concerns. If you don't get an answer you like get a second opinion. Good luck.

Answer: No Cleavage Thank you for your question. First, you are only 4 months out, your breasts will continue to change over the next few months. Secondly, I wish we had a before photo as. this would give us perspective of where you began. I'm assuming the implants were placed submuscularly. Placing an implant of this size or larger can be difficult and sometimes impossible to place under the muscle, 650cc is an extremly large implant. In addition it can lead to symastia which would be difficult to correct. Implants don't create cleavage as stated in prior responses, and they don't change your anatomy. If your cleavage is wide prior to your surgery it will be wide after surgery. My suggestion is to have a discussion with your surgeon to review what was discussed prior to surgery.

Answer: Implant appearance It is difficult to comment without having seen what your breasts looked like before surgery. Possibly the nipples were pointing outward before surgery, but implants magnify the differences. Best to be seen in person.

Answer: Cleavage I sense that the problem isn't the volume or the cleavage. It's the communication and the expectations that are the problem. You need to sit down with your Doctor and explain in a calm and non-accusatory way what you both discussed before hand, what you expected and why you are not happy with the results. My opinion is that 650cc is very, very large. Making them larger will do nothing for the cleavage. Bras make cleavage, Doctors don't. Larger implants will contribute to over stretching your already stretched breast and increase the droop you are already showing signs of. Your nipples are lateral but I suspect they were to start with.
