Uneven breasts from old augmentation on one side. My breasts were noticably different sizes and I had an augmentation done on one of them over 35 years ago. So he had to match them up from being uneven and having old skin stretched out. He listened to all my concerns, mostly about just wanting them to now match versus having boobs that looked augmented. I am extremely happy, the scars are minimal.
Pros...Love my tummmy. Cons....The pain is quite extensive. I elected to get a tummy tuck because I was tired of the flab I had. I had just finished my bachelors degree and thought how nice it would be to shed off the fat that would never go away. Dr. was the best! Updated on Jul 29, 2010: 4 weeks post op...Will be posting new pics up soon....going through the time of when I eat something with salt it swells. Swelling is something that you will have for a while off and on. I am still very pleased with my results.
I had a tummy tuck two weeks ago and Im thrilled! Finnally at 40 years old I have the flat stomach Ive always wanted. I workout alot and lift weights, Ive beem fat ive been thin, but after kids there was no fixing my stomach. As a matter of fact the thinner I was the worse it looked. My doctor did an amazing job, my recovery has gone well and theres has not been alot of pain. I did have some issues with nerve pain in my leg but its getting much better. The hardest thing is a very tired back from walking bent over.
I am going to Dr.Au in Raleigh NC. My procedure is tomorrow and gosh!! I am nervous! I have wanted boobs forever but after I had my 2 kids and my boobs basically disappeared, I felt like my want turned into a need. After a while, my husband came up with the money and I am about to have some boobies!! He claims he likes my body, but lets be honest, I look like a 12 year old and he would be more satisfied if I was more curvy (with boobs!). He's been very supportive the whole time and I couldn't thank him enough! My procedure is tomorrow and I will update once I am well. Updated on 22 May 2015: I was told to arrive at 10 am, but I wasn't called back until about 12:15. Pretty disappointing. So I go back, talk to the nurses, change my clothes and then Dr. Au came in. When he came in he seemed a little irritated to begin with and once we began to talk I was sure. During consultation we talked about 280-300cc even tho I wanted bigger. So today I told him I wanted bigger (about 320-350) & he basically began to yell at me. I started crying because I'm sensitive and spending thousands of dollars, I want what I want. He said he would give me what I wanted but don't call him complaining, if anything goes wrong I would be responsible for it and he didn't wanna hear a single word from me.. so.. I decided to go with 300cc. He marked on my boobs, left, nurse came in gave me IV and we went to operating room. I layed down and that's all I remember. I woke up and had boobs! My husband and kids were there (we didn't have a babysitter, we have no family here). I was wheelchaired out and in PAIN!! Whoo!! I've been on meds, and in bed. It hurts to move any type of way. And I'm a stomach sleeper, this is so uncomfortable! I have not seen my actual boobies, but from what I can see, they're not as big as I hoped. I knew I wanted bigger but I didn't want to take responsibility if something crazy went wrong. I do want to say Dr.Au is not a bad person but his "bedside manners" are pretty nonexistent. Shout out to my husband, he has been amazing taking care of me and the girls!! I will post pics in a day or two. Goodnight. Updated on 25 May 2015: So.. it's been 3 days since I've had boobies. The 1st day the pain was excruciating, then I realized most of the pain was being caused by this super small bra my doctor put on me. After I took that off, I felt 10 times better. Anyways I've been doing very well (staying drugged up) but today I haven't taken much meds and I feel great. I do want to say, I'm not happy with my size. I wanted 350cc but my doctor made me believe I'd have all these complications if I went bigger than 300. Updated on 26 May 2015: (Screams) it ducks spending money and not getting what u asked for. My pain is pretty much gone and my boons have dropped a little. I am so unhappy with this size!!! Updated on 28 May 2015: Updated on 1 Jun 2015: Wish they were a little bit bigger Updated on 1 Jun 2015: Updated on 3 Jun 2015: Updated on 7 Jun 2015: Updated on 14 Jun 2015: Tiny. I hate them. Updated on 15 Jun 2015: So I've decided I will be getting surgery again... my doctor said it would be the same price for a revision. What an ass hole. I would never go back to him or recommend him to anyone. Waste of money!!! Updated on 21 Jun 2015: My leftis still a tad bit higher. Hope it drops evenly because he made the pocket higher due to being a jerk!! & asymmetrical boobs lol still not as big as I'd hope but I'm learning to accept them since it'll be years before I can go bigger. Updated on 3 Jul 2015: Updated on 30 Jul 2015: Don't know how long it's been. Maybe 3 months *almost*
After years of researching and 4 Doctor Interviews I chose Dr. A based on his thorough explanations and the time he took with me at the initial visit. I went 300cc saline under the muscle I was satisfied with the results but was never completely happy. Then after 3.5 years I suffered a deflation. (Worst experience ever and very painful) When returning to Dr A. he was kind and willing to make the repair although he didn’t seem very supportive about it and then wanted the full cost of breast Augmentation paid up front with no regard to what portion the Warranty would cover I left his office in tears. A deflation is not an expected surgery and because of the pain I was in I had hoped my original BA doctor after 3 years would at least remember my face! And be willing to work with the great warranty mentor offers. So I went on a search I found a doctor that works with mentor and they credited the warranty amount off of the total surgery cost and I was repaired 2 weeks after deflation with just 2k out of pocket verses 6k.Updated on 15 Feb 2013:I had saline implants for 3 ½ years I loved them, although the rippling was annoying and the funny compression distortion of the implant during arm movement because they were under the muscle. Sadly In December I had a rupture on the left side I believe now it was a small leak. After a terrible experience I found a doctor who was willing to do the replacement on short notice he’s been wonderful thus far. My implant exchange was for memory gel and instead of under the muscle doc suggested over would be much better for the new type of implant because of the more natural feel. First, I hate the gel implants because they are so mushy like putting my hand into mash potatoes it’s a horrible feeling going from high tight firm to saggy smushy. The worst part is 3 days post op I noticed horrible bruising on my right side (the one that was still good), bruising that was more painful on that side than the other I also noticed even though I was still swollen from the surgery I could already see what looked like an implant edge close to my nipple protruding out of my skin. I had antibiotics during surgery and 2 weeks after surgery then when I went for my 2 week post op there was a noticeable red infected area where the implant was visible through my skin verses everywhere else. I was treated for more weeks with antibiotics then on the next visit it was very clear my breast had taken on a square looks close to a CC. Boy have I been stressed, in pain, saddened ect. So since 12-12-13 I have been on constant antibiotics with a square looking breast. As of last week I was taken off the antibiotics and told maybe the implant is showing because I’m so small (118lbs 5’3). I’m ok with a little showing but to see the side of the implant distort my nipple does not seem ok. He said give it 6 weeks come back. Ok I said sure … and the following Monday I woke up with a red swollen rock hard breast with extreme excruciating pain. I rushed to docs office they gave me I.V. antibiotics and two more weeks of antibiotics with no solution. He doesn't want to take it out; he appears genuinely concerned but also confused about what to do. He is a very high accredited doctor with 2400 surgeries under his belt and to say the least he looked confused. Opinions would be wonderful I’m at a loss of what to do.Updated on 15 Feb 2013:I had saline implants for 3 ½ years I loved them, although the rippling was annoying and the funny compression distortion of the implant during arm movement because they were under the muscle. I had a great experience with smart lipo and regular lipo and wanted to share the details. I had my inner thighs, outer thighs, and hips done a few days ago. I was really worried about being in terrible pain due to reading the reviews on this site, but that did not happen for me and a few days later I'm comfortable although still a bit sore. I had reg lipo AND smart lipo on inner thighs, and smart lipo on the other areas. Regarding pain, I was awake and in a bit of pain shortly after the procedure but nothing terrible. In fact, at no time have I been in terrible pain. I did not have extensive fat removed (overall im about 20 lbs over my ideal weight) so I dont know if that had to do with why I wasnt in a lot of pain. I took vicodin and am still taking it, but I only need half the recommended amount. My soreness level was uncomfortable and not like a workout the first two days- it was more extreme but I could get around fine, just needed to walk a bit slow. I could not have gone to work at a regular job and I still feel (4 days later) it would be a little much to be at a reg job yet, thats my opinion. The inner thighs where I had the reg lipo are a lot more sensitive then the smart lipo areas. Now the fun part- I could see a different right away and I was happy and it's getting better. I was told 3 months until I see the full results. I know everyone has a different experience, but I wanted to provide the details because I was very nervous due to what I read on the net and my fears were unwarranted. Another important detail is I went in thinking that smart lipo really can do exactly what reg lipo does- and that is simply not the case. Smart lipo is great but it works on smaller amounts of fat- my Dr. carefully explained that it would basically take all day with smart lipo to do what reg lipo could do in half an hour. My Dr. did a combo of smart and reg lipo on my inner thighs because I had more fat there then on my outer thighs and hips- and he also used smart lipo there for the skin tightening effect. He explained that if he removes too much fat, the sagging could become an issue so the smart lipo after reg lipo was a good idea. Dr was very thorough, a great doctor, and his staff was informed and helpful at all times.

I am not aware of any law saying a second surgeon cannot see you. However, some surgeons prefer not to treat or evaluate another surgeon's work. Early results are not necessarily an indication of later results, so waiting for swelling to subside and the skin to retract is prudent.
The other surgeons have already responded well, but I'd add something for other patients considering Breast augmentation.Just because you can put a sizer of 475 cc size in a bra on top of your breast doesn't mean you can stuff an implant of this size into your body. If you're a small framed person with tight tissues, it tears you up inside and gets oddly shaped. You're not like a balloon that can be blown up to any size you like.A 3D simulated result on a computer screen is also not a realistic depiction of what the surgery will end up like. You wouldn't eat 10 hotdogs at a buffet "just to get my money's worth", so please ladies: listen to your surgeon if he says the size you want is too big for your body.
At one month there is still swelling. I tend to wait for 4 to 6 months after liposuction before doing anything else to allow swelling to subside and allow the skin to shrink as much as possible. My experience is the liposuction has to be very aggressive to remove the excess tissue in men. This can lead to significant swelling. That said, some will need a touch up of some sort if there is remaining excess tissue.Give it some time and give your Surgeon a chance to deal with your concerns should additional work be required. Good luck!
In my experience, 475 cc is in the large category of implants. A large framed heavier person can accept this volume without difficulty. But a smaller person may not be able to. The problem comes in the available space in your body: regardless of how you might like the appearance of a sizer on top of your breast in a bra, it might be too much in one step inside of you.Bigger isn't always better. Good luck!
I find that many women are afraid of going to small with her implants. However, due to this fear some women choose to large a size and end up too big. In my experience, 450 cc in a small person may increase the bra cup size about 2-1/2 cups. It is imperative to have careful sizing before selecting a large implant as you are anticipating. The average implant I put in is about 350 cc. Bigger doesn't necessarily mean prettier. Your tissues aren't like a balloon to be blown up as large as possible. Your foundation isn't large to start with, and there's only so much room before you start to look distorted.
