I had a lower face and neck lift in Aug. 2024, and while I’m satisfied with my jawline, my neck still has significant loose skin and sagging. It also has “ripples” when I look up. My skin is thin but I’m seeing before and after pictures of much older women with similar-looking skin/before pictures that look much better than I do. You’d almost never know I had a neck lift. Am I exaggerating or not being realistic, and if not, should I go back for a revision with the same surgeon?
Answer: Revision I think it is always reasonable to have a long discussion with your original surgeon. No other individual will know what happened to obtain the current result that you have better than the person that got you to this point (as the original surgeon directly saw the internal anatomy and performed all the manuevers). If you at any point feel that you are not sure about proceeding into revisionary surgery, I highly recommend against it regardless of who the provider/surgeon is. I would recommend speaking with your original surgeon that you want to get a 2nd opinion to just be sure about the revision (or you can just get a 2nd opinion regardless). I try to be as transparent with patients as possible and I usually hope for the same! Best of luck

Answer: The reason you're disappointed with the result likely comes down to the facelift vector. Hello, I’m Dr. Nk Park from Noonopi Plastic Surgery in Korea.Because you have a very thin neck, it’s possible that your surgeon performed a very conservative neck lift.Did you have an incision behind the ears? If not, extending the incision behind the ear and redraping the neck skin in an oblique vector—then excising the redundant skin in the retroauricular area—may significantly improve the result.I wonder if your previous surgeon is familiar with this approach.

Answer: A revision can be done to help improve appearance. Recommend pairing with Morpheus8 to help further tighten the loose skin Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Revision Considerations Hello, hope you are doing well. Based on the photos that you sent, there does appear to be more room for surgical improvement. I believe revision surgery can be pursued, but you will need to consult with your primary surgeon to see whether it is something they can accomplish for you. One thing to consider is whether (lower) facelift surgery needs to be done at the same time to reach the best result for your neck. Best, Dr. Tower

Answer: Necklift issues The neck skin issue is mostly in midline. It can be corrected with direct skin excision and a Z-plasty to hide the scars. You can also do Thermitight to tighten the loose skin. Regards Dr. Janjua
