One year ago I had 2cc of Voluma in Chin. I'd like to get a silicone chin implant placed in my chin. Should I dissolve Voluma?

One year ago I had 2cc of voluma. It was great but after 6 months I feel like 50% of the effect had dissipated. This month I'd like to move forward with a chin implant. I feel like there is no more voluma left in my chin, though it has only been 1 year. Is it necessary and important to dissolve the voluma first before moving forward with the desired silicone implant?

In my opinion, you would not need to have the Voluma that was placed in your chin a year ago, dissolved before having a chin implant.  I would alert your surgeon that you had the Voluma in the past though.

You should be perfectly fine to proceed with getting a chin implant now. There is no need to try and dissolve whatever filler, if any, remains.

In the end you should discuss your history with your surgeon and let him or her make the decision for you.

From your history it sounds like the Voluma is pretty much gone so at this point it shouldn’t be distorting your facial contour enough to make a significant difference in regards to picking the right size and shape implant.

You can always bring in some pre-Voluma pictures of yourself for your surgeon to compare.
