I have read some studies online that suggest he mandible will continue growing until age 20 and beyond, but most doctors on here have said that age 18 or 19 is appropriate to get the surgery. So, I was just hoping for clarification on this.

Answer: What age is old enough for a male chin implant?
Hello, thank you for your question. An in-person examination is needed, I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.
These are usually dynamic. I have had occasional success with botox in the mentalis muscle. Jaw surgery in itself doesnt address the muscle.
However thru a small incision lets one excise the droopy muscle...i have had the most success doing this. This is a small procedure.
It is hard to say if your result is because of a poor selection of implant shape/size, or if it was placed in a suboptimal anatomical position. The best solution for you would be a customized chin implant to be placed after removal of your current implant.
