Hi, I'm 32 y/o male, my hair started thinning, I'm planning to go for 6-month PRP therapy (1 session every month) + maintainance session twice a year. I read online that PRP gives best results when combined with rogaine, but I don't want to use rogaine forever, so, my question is: can I use rogaine for 6 months only along with PRP, then stop rogaine and continue with PRP maintainance sessions only? or using rogaine is useless in this case? please advise. thank you

Answer: PRP and Rogaine? Can I stop? Englewood Cliffs New Jersey
Hey there,
PRP is deposited sub dermally and sometimes in the subcutaneous plane with microneedle techniques there is minimal to almost negligible chances of injury to the hair follicle as the average length of the hair is about 5 mm.
Hope this helps.
In my opinion, the fact that your hair did get thicker from PRP treatments implies it probably was working. The new hair loss needs to be evaluated by your hair loss expert. I would suggest two biopsies and dermoscopy.. One biopsy from the top of your head and one from the posterior...
In my opinion, there could be a number of reasons why you haven't noticed any change. Firstly, if your hair loss has been greater than three to five years in the crown, You may not get regrowth. Secondly, you need to wait a minimum of four to six months to see growth changes....
