I had buccal fat removal 2 month ago. about 10 days after surgery I had abscess on my right side then my doctor advised to use antibiotic again for about 10day. the swollen side is better now but I am still unhappy with the asymmetry in my face. I heard about masseter botox to make help for solving this problem but I am not sure if I can try it or not!

Hello Tepmo, thank you for your question!

Since you had a complication after the buccal fat removal that changes and slows down the pace of your recovery, it is expected to be more swelling and last longer than it usually does after an infection, but your face will return to its normal size in time. I wouldn't suggest to take any other measures right now, you just have to be patient and wait for the swelling to go away. It takes up to 2 months if no complications arise) so your surgery is still very recent.

Patients may present with facial asymmetry post buccal fat removal, specially if they had a complication with the procedure (e.g. infection / abscess). Most of the asymmetry is usually secondary to residual swelling, which very commonly more intense in one side of the face. 
Healing process from buccal fat removal takes at least 3 (three months) to se a resolution of at least 80-90% of the swelling. Therefore, at 2 months, post surgical swelling might still be present and it might also cause facial asymmetry.

Buccal fat excision is an appropriate surgical procedure for patients that of overly full and wide cheek areas. In common terms, it is good for patients who have chipmunk cheeks. In reviewing your picture, it is difficult to tell if you're a good candidate because your cheek area is slightly full but not overly full. You are a patient that would need an in person consultation for a complete evaluation and explanation of the positives and negatives of this procedure in your situation. I hope this helps.
