Should I have buccal fat removal at 20 years old? (Photos)

Question

I'm 20 years old and i have lower cheek fat as you can see in my pictures, and it seems like I put something in my mouth. I'm planning to do buccal fat, should I have this surgery? I live in Pakistan and there is no well experienced doctor for this surgery.

Great question.  I couldn't agree more with the sentiment provided by others on here - if there is no one in your area who is experienced with the procedure, don't do it.  plain and simple.  As far as candidacy is concerned, I find that patients do very well, even young patients with buccal fat removal.  Its never about completely removing the fat and leaving you with a gaunt appearance - its about improving the contour of your cheeks and creating a slight shadowing in that area.  Its a subtle enhancement that makes sure people notice something is different, but no one knows what was done.  which should be the overall goal at all times with these kinds of facial procedures.  I hope some of this helps! First, if you don't have a qualified surgeon in your area, this is a strictly academic discussion.  That said, Yes - I think buccal fat removal is a reasonable thing to do in your case.  I do NOT share the opinion of some that says you shouldn't have the procedure now because you could end up "gaunt" later in life.  Frankly, buccal fat removal is generally a subtle change in my hands with typical removal of about 3 cc's of fat in the deep space.  In fact, the results are so subtle that I have begun performing microcannula liposuction for some of my patients in order to enhance the outcomes.  So, I would have no hesitation on a face like yours.Good Luck!

Young patients in their early 20s who have chubby cheeks and good cheek bones could benefit from buccal fat removal. Buccal fat removal corrects the chubby cheeks thus giving the face a thinner more chiseled look. The video below helps to understand who could be a candidate for buccal fat removal.

Based on your photos, you appear to be a good candidate for a buccal fat pad removal procedure. As buccal fat removal mainly targets lower cheek puffiness/fullness which you seem to have, you should benefit nicely from this operation.
