Question

First started some yellow deposits (Plz see pic) Doctor recommended to use bactroban, started to use since 2 days BUT The itching accelerated after the use of Bactroban, should i stop it ? My Doctor insist on Bactroban (Some side effects of bactroban are : allergy, itching and redness) Should i replace it by Fucidin for example ? Thank you

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.  Not every surgery is the same.  If you are having issues, contact your doctor.

Redness to donor site is common.  Any topical medication can certainly contribute to symptoms if you have an allergy.  While I do not think this is anything serious, you will want to have symptomatic relief.  To that end, follow up with your doctor. He or she may prescribe a topical steroid for a week.

Stop using the cream or ointment and begin showering gently twice daily with shampoo with & conditioner. After 3-5 days your problem should be resolved. If not, then you need to see an MD.

Bactroban can cause itching from allergy. Stop using it.  I am concerned about the redness in the photo, either go back and see your surgeon or when you stop the Bactroban, see if the redness goes away
