It took me over 9 weeks to somewhat straighten after my tummy tuck. I expressed concern to PS and was told some people take longer. Well 20 months on my skin still feels so tight. I cannot even pinch it standing straight. My posture was bad for over a year and now trying to correct it my incision is worsening. Suffer shortness of breath due to how tight i am still. What should I do? Im so disappointed suffering with this tightness so long. Use silicone, microneedling, laser, tret, hydroquinone.
Answer: Tightness I'm sorry to hear of the tightness you've been experiencing since your tummy tuck. Nine weeks to not stand straight is far too long. Skin tends to stretch over time. You can try gentle stretching exercises as well as keeping the skin moisturized. I've included a video on the topic of standing erect and walking after a tummy tuck.

Answer: Tightness after tummy tuck Dear Affectionate211738, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Addressing Abdominal Tightness Post-Tummy Tuck: Surgical and Non-Surgical Options Hello affectionate211738 in Sydney, Thank you for reaching out with your concerns about abdominal tightness one year and eight months after your tummy tuck. I appreciate the history and pictures you've provided. Your abdomen appears quite tight and flat, seemingly at its maximum level of tautness. Your shortness of breath, as mentioned, is a notable concern. To potentially alleviate this, a common approach among plastic surgeons is to revisit the original incision site and adjust the previous rectus abdominis muscle tightening (or plication). This procedure involves either completely releasing or partially loosening and then retightening the muscles. Such an adjustment could help reduce pressure on the diaphragm and might alleviate some of your breathing difficulties. Regarding the tummy tuck scar, I recommend considering FRAXEL laser treatment, which is specifically designed for scars like yours. Alternatively, if the appearance of the scar is a major concern, a surgical revision could be considered, where the existing scar is removed and a new one is created. As for easing the tightness of your stomach, surgical options are somewhat limited. I suggest consulting with a professional massage therapist for soft tissue release techniques and exercises that could help lessen the stomach's tightness. A personal trainer could also be beneficial in assisting you with exercises to relax your core muscles. These suggestions provide you with viable options to address the tightness in your abdomen post-tummy tuck. Wishing you the best as you seek a comfortable and satisfying resolution. Sincerely, J. Answer: Tightness You will not like my answer, but you can gain and then lose weight. You might have to gain up to 20-30 pounds to stretch the tissue. Do this weight gain slowly so your tissue will stretch, and then lose the weight. I doubt if 5 to 10 pounds will make much difference.
