Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Liposuction of the flanks during a tummy tuck is a great way to create an hourglass shape. Discuss with your surgeon to see if this is possible.
Liposuction can contour your waist and torso, provided you have pinchable fat there. This can be performed with tummy tuck, should be discussed with your plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question regarding whether you need liposuction and a tummy tuck. Thank you for attaching your pictures. Based on a single picture, you have stretch marks and skin elasticity, especially around your belly button. That means liposuction alone will yield a very poor result. In my opinion, you need a tummy tuck. You may benefit from liposuction over the love handle or superior iliac crest region if you want more contour and perhaps a less boxy look. However, it is paramount that you have a tummy tuck to improve your abdominal wall. Your abdominal wall can not improve without a high skin irregularity risk. Thank you for your question regarding whether you need liposuction and a tummy tuck.If you have any more questions regarding the tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, please contact my office. Since an abdominoplasty can be a difficult procedure, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing tummy tucks. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 abdominoplasties. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Good luck! Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Thank you for your question. Each surgeon will have their own protocol in regards to having liposuction done at the same time as a tummy tuck. I typically recommend doing a little bit at the same time and then plan for the patient to return minimally 3 months later for liposuction of the flank and even coming across the front of the belly. I would recommend speaking with your Surgeon and discussing your concerns and plans. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for your question regarding liposuction along with your tummy tuck and for including a photo. It would be helpful to see different angles. In my experience, sometimes not doing liposuction to the flanks can make a woman appear more boxy after a tummy tuck. If you feel like you are not being listened to, consult with another experienced board certified plastic surgeon in your area. Hope this helps!
Dear prettyinpink18,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
You don't appear to need much liposuction, but it is common to do a little bit of lipo on the waistline when needed.
You are a perfect candidate for a Tummy Tuck and muscle repair in order to fix the hernia and the loose muscle. Liposuction will be needed to waist and possibly lovehandles to achieve a better contour of the waist and lower back curvature. A tight muscle repair (3-4 inches minimum) will create that attractive flatness and smaller waistline. No liposuction to the abdominal skin.Be encouraged. Dr. Cárdenas
Hello and thank you for your question. It is difficult to tell based on one photos, but you may not require liposuction as part of your tummy tuck. During tummy tuck, the excess skin below the belly button is removed and the recuts (abs) muscle are tightened in order to achieve a flat abdominal contour. I would recommend to obtain an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options and expectations.I hope this helps.Best, Dr. KaranetzDr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
An examination is needed to see if you have any residual fat to be removed. Liposuction of the abdomen is not done at the same time as the tummy tuck for safety to the skin.
Make sure your compression is not too tight or the healing will be hindered. You can always wear compression above the area as well.
Thank you for your question regarding how you should stage your breast, bbl, and tummy tuck procedures. I recommend you first do your BBL; this way you can get optimal fat from the tummy (and the rest of your body). Return for a tummy tuck and breast augmentation two to three months later. This...
