Can this tummy tuck and belly button be corrected with a revision surgery? (Photos)

Visit with an experienced board-certified, plastic surgeon and it is likely that all of that excess tissue can be removed during a repeat procedure that is likely to leave you with a very flat, excellent result. You would need a  new belly button to be created at a more appropriate position. Based on the photos you provided, you would likely be a candidate for an abdominoplasty revision. In this revision, you can expect for the tissue from your umbilicus to the pubic region to be removed and a new umbilicus will be created. I recommend speaking to a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

Thank you for your question. It looks like you had a mini tummy tuck and probably would’ve benefited from a full. The solution would be too make a more standard tummy tuck incision and exercise the overhanging skin. When a belly button is “floated” that usually means the stalk of the belly button is cut. However, if your surgeon did not cut the belly button stalk the fix is actually quite simple to perform a standard tummy tuck. If the stalk is cut and the belly button was actually floated, then your option is a standard tummy tuck incision to exercise the excess skin and fat, and then perform a neoumbilicoplasty to make you a new belly button. I’m going to guess that your surgeon may be perhaps a little bit on the other side or perhaps not board-certified in plastic surgery.
You are not a good candidate for a floating belly button tummy tuck.
The stock of your belly button was severed and like you said it’s now sitting just above your pubic area.
It should still be attached to your muscle wall where it was when you were born.
Your surgeon definitely cut the umbilical stock or there’s no possible way it could’ve ended up down in your pants.
The problem is once it’s cut you can’t move it.
Making an incision all the way around the belly button to move it will remove all of its blood supply and it will then die.
It’s not possible to insert the belly button as a graft. most likely your best option is to find a really talented plastic surgeon to redo your tummy tuck which most likely will include eliminating and discarding your old belly button and attempting to create a new one.
Trying to make something that looks like a bellybutton out of just tight abdominal skin is really difficult and never really accomplishes the goal but if you can get the three dimensional contour to look correct then there are techniques that people of done that can look acceptable in some circumstances.
Of course you can except the results the way they are and recognize you should’ve probably been a little more selective in choosing your provider.
Quality results have two important variables.
The first is patient candidacy and the second is surgeon skilled.
You may want to write a review about your experience on a few websites to let other people know about your experience. I’m sure you would’ve appreciated reading other patients experiences before making the decision of having the procedure with this provider.
To find the quality provider I recommend patients have multiple in person consultations. I recommend avoiding virtual consultations whenever possible.
During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures. Being shown a handful sample pictures which must likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. An experience providers should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures. highly experienced surgeons will have hundreds or even thousands of before and after pictures of common procedures like a full tummy tuck.
I also recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews.
The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews.
Based on your pictures it looks like you were an excellent candidate for a full tummy tuck but simply chose a provider who lacks skill and or experience or possibly formal training.

What you describe and what your pgotos show indicates that this was a poor choice. You need a total redo lifting up all that loose skin and removing it along with your misplaced umbilicus. Then you need a new umbi made (neoumbilicus). up in the correct position. A float is ONLY done when you have zero extra skin, clearly not the case here.
