Clear and Brilliant is a fractional laser, meaning it emits a "shower" of very narrow laser beams to the skin. Because there is skin that is not treated (between the shower beams), the skin heals more quickly, and the energy that can be used within the shower beams is higher. Fractional laser technology is available for various lasers. For Clear and Brilliant specifically, two laser light types can be used. One laser form (wavelength 1440nm) is for the dermis, the deep part of the skin. This can help with scars, wrinkles, skin texture, and increased collagen production. The other laser form (wavelength 1927nm) is used for treating the superficial skin, or epidermis. This helps with dark spots and superficial texture. There is no question that the 1927nm is safe to use over fillers, since it does not penetrate deep into the skin. In theory, the 1440nm might penetrate into the dermis (deep skin) and be absorbed by water molecules that the dermal filler has trapped -- BUT: most likely, your provider has injected the dermal filler much deeper than the laser will penetrate.
