Hello, I had my nose pierced 12 years ago, it fell out on its own and I noticed a bump develop on my nose a few weeks later. I’ve had it ever since even with no jewelry in my nose. I pierced it again 9 months ago, it healed with no problem. I do notice the bump( right next to my nose ring) more now, it makes it look so uneven. It feels hard from the inside and outside. Was wondering what could be done other than surgery? Thank you

Epidermal inclusion cyst can occur anytime there is a piercing. They tend to shrink with dilute steroid injections. In that regard, you may benefit from consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist or a facial plastic surgeon. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

It's difficult to say from the photos provided, however, the story is consistent with the development of a hypertrophic scar. If this indeed so, then small volume injections of trimacinolone, an anti-inflammatory agent, directly into the bump are likely to shrink it. You would be wise to consult a board certified, cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
