Do I have Tuberous Breasts? Can they be fixed?

I am 18, and have hated my breasts for as long as I could remember. My mother has always insisted that they were normal, but I have never believed her. There was just always something off about them to me. I got my nipples pierced in hopes of helping boost my self-esteem about my breasts, but with sadly, no luck. Any help is appreciated!

Far more important than the technique is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Judging by your photos alone, it does appear that your breasts are slightly tuberous because your breasts appear to be protruding into the areola. You also have an abnormally short distance between the areola and the breast fold. Tuberous breast correction surgery can release the constricted breast tissue by making internal radial incisions that allow it to splay out properly. These incisions are done internally so you won't see anything externally.

I recommend a new technique called Breast Augmentation with
Mini Ultimate Breast Lift.  Using only a
circumareola incision it is possible to reshape your breast tissue creating
upper pole fullness, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to
increase your cleavage.  Your areola size
can be reduced and the puffiness eliminated. 
Through the same incision, implants can be placed.  Aligning the areola, breast tissue and
implant over the bony prominence of the chest wall maximizes anterior
projection with a minimal size implant. 
Small round textured silicone gel implants placed retro-pectoral look
and feel more natural, are more stable, less likely to ripple or have

Based on your pictures, it does
appear that you have tuberous breast, in which it appears that the breast
tissue protrudes or herniates out from the areola.  The surgical treatment
is usually placement of breast implants, along with a lift (augmentation mastopexy).

Yes, you do have Tuberous breasts, bilasterally.The hallmark is the constricted appearance around the areola-skin junction with apparent herniation of breast tissue into the areola.This is considered a congenital anomaly, or birth defect if you will.  That may be hard for you to hear, but that is actually a good thing. Being a defect, you are a candidate to be at least considered for insurance coverage.Only go to a board certified plastic surgeon.Hope this helps.

Thank you for the question and picture.I do believe that you have tubular breast. They can be corrected by placing an implant under the muscle and in combination with a little fat transfer to the around the areola area to bring in the area. Dr. Campos
