Should I stop using the sunbeds before my BA?

I know that I should avoid the sunbeds after my BA, but will it affect the appearance of my scars if I am not my natural colour before surgery? I had a tattoo lazered off a couple of years ago and they told me I couldn't have a tan when I was having the laser removal because of scarring so was just wondering if it would be the same?

The cells that create pigment in our bodies for some reason are unpredictable after surgery in an incision, meaning the cells could make more pigment when exposed to radiation that is irreversible, there are new safer tanning beds available

Any tanning will enhance scarring. You should avoid tanning beds all together for reasons including pre-mature aging and skin cancer. Self tanners and spray tans have come a long way since being introduced in the market. Best wishes and good luck!

Sunbeds are a bad idea for many more reasons than your BBA and scarring.  Unless you are trying to get skin cancer, I wouldn't recommend using them.

UV radiation can worsen your scars and accelerate the aging of your skin.  I would advise to avoid or minimize your tanning bed time before and after your procedure.
