I had Botox 72 hours ago. When forehead is at rest, looks exactly the same as prior to Botox. When I raise my eyebrows, my forehead looks indented in a V shape. Should I give this longer to settle or go back to my provider?

Answer: Effects of botox 72 hours is generally too early for botox to be in full effect. Botox typically takes effect over 5-7 days. Dysport, on the other hand does start working a little bit quicker in the 2-3 day range. You can see some asymmetries and deformities following botox administration, but at this stage I would recommend waiting. I typically have patients come in after 2 weeks for a followup evaluation and any touchups can be performed at that time. That gives time for the botox to kick in, and another week for the patients to be able to see it on a day-to-day basis so that we can make any adjustments necessary, if any. Good luck!

Answer: I encourage you to wait 2 weeks as it takes about 2 weeks for the full effect of botox. Thank you for your question and sharing your photos. I encourage you to wait 2 weeks as it takes about 2 weeks for the full effect of botox. The forehead muscle may continue to relax over the next few days. Early touch ups can result in forehead heaviness. If you're still having a contour irregularity when raising your eyebrows at 2 weeks, a few more units can be injected to relax the lower part of the frontalis muscle.
