Had lipo done near the start of COVID. My doctor did not give me much time towards helping me with my aftercare. Massage clinics weren't open either, but my doctor said to do the massages myself if I wanted to. As a result, I developed fibrosis. I thought my only option to fix this would be surgery, so I decided to wait until having kids to fix the problem. Wondering, what are my best options (surgical or non-surgical) for treatment of this? What are the surgeries specifically called for this?
Answer: Abdomen A closer photo would be more helpful. However, you might get good improvement with Sculptra injections to help smooth out areas. This would take several vials and probably 3 sessions at least 6 weeks apart. Please go to someone who does a lot of Sculptra injections and especially for scarred areas.

Answer: Liposuction fibrosis Dear Melissa, There is currently no valid evidence to support LMD massage after liposuction. The evidence is circumstantial based on its effectiveness in lymphedema treatment. Lymphedema is a chronic disease process. Liposuction is an acute damage to the lymphatic system that will resolve (except in VERY instances) usually over a 6 month period. Contour irregularities are an unfortunate risk of liposucton surgery and occur more commonly in over aggressive fat removal and in large volume fat removal. You did not mention whether or not you've had children. If not, and you are still planning to, continue to wait because pregnancy may be your abdomen's friend. If so, and/or you are no longer planning for children, your options are limited. Ultrasound treatments for fibrosis might provide some benefit. Good luck!
