I reached a healthy weight (BMI is 25) and I'm planning to have a tummy tuck + lipo in the coming months to address loose skin and body contour. long term I'd like to get into bodybuilding, but I can't do much about that due to gym closures and the pandemic. I'm wondering if it is possible to do the tummy tuck now, and then once gyms open up I can continue with healthy eating and exercise to lose fat and be lean enough to start bodybuilding.

Answer: Bodybuilding after a tummy tuck Yes you will be able to return to body building once you have healed from your tummy tuck. The important part about returning to exercise is to do so gradually. Your surgeon will guide you based on how you are progressing through recovery.

Answer: Will I be able to get into bodybuilding after getting a tummy tuck? The TT patient should avoid exercise, strenuous activity, and lifting more than 5 lbs for at least 6 weeks. Patients should consume at least 100 grams of protein during the recovery period to ensure adequate wound healing. Patients should not strain the area around the incision. After about 12 weeks, most TT patients are ready to preform abdominal exercises and weight training. The reason that patients must wait so long is due to the intense trauma of tightening the stomach muscles. Your stomach muscles will not be ready for crunches, sit-ups, or core exercises until this time. Intense weight lifting can also put undue pressure on your core muscles. When you perform these activities, do so gradually, and listen to your body.
