Tummy Tuck candidate? My overhang causes so much sweat (Photo)

Question

I've been looking into a TT and lipo for years especially after having my daughter via caesarean 5 years ago. I'm 33 years old and I live an active lifestyle, but due to my stomach flap, I haven't been able to get into weightlifting due to my stomach overhang. My overhang causes so much sweat and eventually leads to me getting a rash or even jock itch. Please help!

After looking at your photos you would be a good candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction. I always advise my patients to be within 15 pounds of their goal weight before proceeding with surgery. If you were to lose weight post surgery you increase the risk of extra loose skin. I would recommend seeing a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation.

Liposuction, combined with the standard TT, will allow you to have stubborn fat resistant to exercise and diet removed from unwanted areas. Based on your photos, you have a separation in your abdominal muscle (rectus diastasis). Because of this I recommend a tummy tuck for you. In tummy tuck surgery, rectus diastasis can be repaired. Vaser liposuction can be done for your flanks and belt region to get more slimmer belt. In my opinion combination of tummy tuck and vaser liposuction (for flanks and belt region) give a better result for you.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. The tummy tuck will tighten your stomach muscles, helping to achieve a flatter appearance, while removing excess skin and adipose tissue. Liposuction can be used to enhance your tummy tuck results by narrowing your waist and removing isolated areas of diet and exercise resistant fat. I would favor the full approach because it appears that your diastasis and muscle laxity is significant, and once repaired you will have significant skin excess. Hope that this helps

Thanks for your question about tummy tuck.  You are a candidate for body contouring and in my opinion the most effective way to give you a beautiful result is the combination of lipo 360 meaning the entire back and front including love handles, bra line, abdomen etc. plus a tummy tuck.  I have incoroporated VASER into my practice which is a technology that uses ultrasound energy to help separate the fat and allow for more refined sculpting when doing combination liposuction and tummy tucks.
