Thank you Lisa for your question.#FatGrafting is a delicate procedure and the ultimate goal is to have each transferred cell acquire new blood vessel and survive. For that reason, it is important to harvest fat with a small cannula at very low suction, as to minimize trauma to the fat cells. Then, injecting the fat cells slowly and in multiple layers will help separating each cells and will increase their chance for survival. In my #Toronto practice, I do use a modified Coleman's technique along with tumescence solution when I perform the so-called Brazilian Butt Lift procedure (#BBL).When a lot of fat is available, then we can favour the stem cell transfer, which are smaller fat cells and also more likely to survive. However, usually the amount required for buttock augmentation requires all harvested fat to be transferred for maximal augmentation. When performing the buttock augmentation with fat, technique and artistry are important but also the meticulous and delicate work of your #PlasticSurgeon. You may also check my blog as I wrote many blogs on the buttocks.Hope this helps! All the best,#DrMarcDuPere, board-certified Toronto plastic surgeon
There are a multitude of technical considerations here and the relative size of fat cells would be difficult to appreciate prior to or after surgery. Iwould search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel ismost likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds ofthese procedures each year. I would look at patient reviews as well asbefore and after photos on that surgeon's website.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Fat cells can be of various sizes. However, the cannula (the instrument used to inject the fat cells) is usually small and trying to squeeze large chunks of fat through a narrow tube will traumatize them.
Good question. But nobody really knows big or little. One certainly can not see the difference macroscopically. What has been shown is to not separate them from the stem cells.
Great question. Although we don't know all the answers to these types questions, it is likely that larger fat cells will ultimately end up with a smaller results as the injection of the absolute number of cells has decreased. the analogy would be to inflating a given number of balloons. The larger the balloons the fewer the number that can fit in a room. It is probably better to have a higher number of small balloons than a smaller number of big ones. I hope this helps and have a wonderful day. Dr Kayser - Detroit

Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. After liposuction, the areas treated are not likely to regain fatty fullness, as many fat cells have been removed. These areas have reduced fat storage capacity. However, if weight gain occurs, the fat will be mostly s...
