The first photo is the side of my nose that i like. But then when i turn my face to the opposite side something strange happens and my nose looks different and i cant quite point of the difference but when i smile it curves downward and looks awful. I'm hoping someone here can point out what is causing my nose in the second picture to look so unflattering. I'd also like to know the correct name of the procedure i would need done. I do realize this is a subtle concern but it still really bothers me.
Answer: Nasal issue First, every one has asymmetry in their face and their nose is no exception. The photos do not demonstrate the issues very well.

Answer: Rhinoplasty candidate A full set of photographs of the entire nose and face are required before making a determination about what may or may not be needed. To straighten a crooked nose requires a rhinoplasty procedure. Cartilage grafting techniques are used to fix asymmetries. Releasing the depressor septi ligament will help prevent the tip from drooping when smiling. For more information and many examples, please see the link and video below

Answer: I don't like this angle There are very good rhinoplasty techniques available, however, all of them have their limitations as to what they can achieve in a given patient, based upon inherent limitations of surgery as well as anatomic limitations set by patient anatomy. Changes with facial movement (e.g. smiling) are inherently more difficult to predictably correct. I would suggest a formal consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon so your specific concerns can be gone over in detail, a physical exam be performed, and individualized recommendations be made. Good luck!

Answer: Nostril different shape after rhinoplasty I am sorry that you are having issues about your procedure and thanks for sharing your question. I can appreciate your concern. the differences may be related to the connection of a little muscle with your lip. Size differences will depend on the differences from baseline and resections that may have done during your procedure. From your pictures is difficult to pinpoint a specific issue and physical exam is granted.A solution is to give botox to paralyze the muscle that is giving you the undesired effect. At the end, surgery can be done once you are 6 months to a year after your original surgery. Finally, make sure that your doctor is aware of your process. He should be able to guide you best in your care. Wishing you the best in your journey

Answer: Nose Dear Torontonian3, Thank you for your clinical post and photographs. The nose is a complex anatomical structure composed of a bony pyramid at the top, some supportive cartilaginous structures called the upper lateral cartilages in the middle and then some curved cartilage structures that give definition to the nasal tip, the dome and the nostril ala. There can be asymmetries between one side of the cartilaginous nasal tip and the other and different support structures and during animation there can be deformation of one lower lateral cartilage and not the other. This often leads to nostril dome and ala asymmetry. There are many support structures that prevent plunging of the nasal tip, splaying of the nostrils and visibility of the nasal passage. It is common for one side of you to be more attractive than another. All these are common to nasofacial patients seeking improvement. The improvements following rhinoplasty can be extremely subtle or quite dramatic depending on the patient and the aesthetic goals. I would advise seeking the consultation of a plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon with years of experience and access to a computer imaging system to show you the kinds of outcomes that be achieved with rhinoplasty surgery. The rhinoplasty you’re seeking would be more focused on nasal tip refinement and simply balancing the bridge to match that new tip. I was fortunate to train in both plastic surgery and ear, nose, throat, head and neck oncology and have been performing rhinoplasty for over 20 years. I’m sure you’ll end up with an excellent result and best of luck. To find out more, please visit the link below.
