Will Restylane Lyft break down with sun exposure?

Hello, I had Restylane Lyft injected weeks ago and I’m going on vacation and wondering if the filler will dissipate in the sun? Thank you.

Sun exposure will not affect fillers. Restylane Lyft is formulated to be injectly deeply into the skin where ultraviolet radiation does not penetrate. You should always use sun protection regardless of having filler treatment.

It's generally believed that UV exposure from the sun won't directly affect fillers or neurotoxins, like Botox, though there have been some interesting studies that suggest it can play a part, and of course medical and aesthetic professionals all agree that sun exposure is the number one contributor of aging. Wear a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunblock of at least SPF 50 and be sure to reapply every 2-3 hours if in direct sun. Powder sunscreens, like the one from Colorscience, can be great for reapplication if you're wearing makeup. Enjoy your trip and play it safe, so that you don't have to see any negative effects from your vacation.
