I received a transplant to my hairline and really do not like the hairline, there is absolutely no recession and it is way to straight. I really want to fix the shape but am very worried about possible scarring. I will say that ive tried plucking a few, and the skin underneath does not have any visible scarring and is flush with no raised bumps. Would electrolysis or laser be possible? I don’t care about keeping the grafts just want a solution to this problem.
Answer: Will removal of grafts result in scarring? Any time you incise the skin, you will get a scar. The question is how visible will the scar be? I have performed over 1000 repair cases over the years that involved in part graft removal. The results are nearly imperceptible to the naked eye. I often recommend that patients have a test performed to make sure they are happy with the results. Once they have the test, they are always interested in proceeding. It is normal for someone with a poor hair transplant that is pluggy or too low to desire to just remove the grafts and look like a normal balding person. Sometimes we move the grafts from the top to the donor area to help conceal scarring in the donor area too. If you find the right doctor, you will be happy with the repair work.

Answer: Scarless removal of grafts Laser or electrolysis can remove hair follicles, usually without scarring, though this can waste follicles. You may want to consider visiting a local hair restoration surgeon for another opinion on your hairline and to discuss ways to correct it.

Answer: Revision post hair transplant Anterior hairlines should be designed naturally to factor in recession. Straight hairlines do look unnatural especially with ongoing age. They can be removed without scarring if done carefully
