I have had a transplant now 7 weeks but I went out in the sun my head went red for a day or two, then started to peel. I washed the peeling skin off and now my hair is very thin. What am I going to do ?
Answer: Post operation Exposing your head to sun after the operation is not healthy for the transplanted hair. Use your supplements and make sure you wear a hat next time.

Answer: Sunburn after 7 weeks PO Excellente question, sorry about the sunburn. It sounds 1st degree burn and in my experience you shouldn't have impact in the hair growth and survival in the following months. The scalp sunburn will delay the normal wound healing process (redness and swollen) only. It is nothing that you can do at the moment, no worries and everything should be OK. Good luck.

Answer: Sunburn after 7 weeks Hi, thank you for your question. I’m sure you realize getting sunburned it not a good thing, especially so soon after your transplant. Unfortunately there isn’t much you can do at this point, what’s done is done. The sun will not prevent new hair from growing but can damage the healing process. However you can prevent future sunburns by wearing a hat (not too tight) and applying sunscreen once the scabs and/or crust have fallen off. I hope this helps.

Answer: Sunburn 7 weeks after hair transplant Avoiding excess sun exposure is important in general, particularly after a hair transplant. Most likely after seven weeks the grafts were not damaged. Not much to do except wait and see how the grafts grow. It may be worth your while to give your surgeon a call and go in to have your scalp examined.

Answer: Sunburn a 7 weeks Getting a sunburn anytime after a hair transplant and before the hair grow out is never good, but it should not kill off the grafts. Next time use a Hat
